Volunteers Needed to Judge UNLV Law Moot Court Competition April 21, 2017
Volunteers are needed to judge the students’ performances on Friday, April 21, 2017 – 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the 19th Annual Moot Court Competition at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. Judges for this competition must be a law school graduate if not a practicing attorney, mediator, or local, state, or federal judge. All members of the Nevada bar and bench are invited to participate. This year’s event will be held at William S. Boyd School of Law, 4505 South Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, Nevada. The competition is in the format of an appellate argument before the Nevada Supreme Court whereby each student gets 12 minutes for oral argument with the judges to provide constructive feedback. Judging the competition qualifies as pro bono service (pursuant to NRPC 6.1). Since the first year of competitions, the CCBA’s New Lawyers Committee has worked to recruit and organize the volunteers from the legal community to judge this competition.
