Public Hearing re Amendment to Nevada Rule of Civil Procedure 58(e) Scheduled for May 8

On Thursday, May 8, 2014, the Supreme Court of Nevada will hold a hearing on the proposed amendment to the Nevada Rule of Civil Procedure 58 (e).

The petition to amend the rule seeks “to allow, but not require, district courts to give notice of entry of judgment in family law cases.” A copy of the petition and the proposed amendment can be viewed on the court’s website as ADKT 0488.

The hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the courtroom at the Supreme Court of Nevada in Carson City. The hearing will be videoconferenced to the courtroom at the Supreme Court of Nevada at the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas.

The court invites written comment from the bench, bar, and public regarding the proposed amendment. An original and 8 copies of written comments are to be submitted to Tracie K. Lindeman, Clerk of the Supreme Court, 201 South Carson Street, Carson City, Nevada 89701 by 5:00 p.m., May 2, 2014.
