Experience: Litigation Experience: General civil litigation, contracts, real estate, bankruptcy, banking law, employment law and partnership/shareholder disputes since 1978. I am A-V rated in Martindale-Hubbell. My practice consists of civil litigation (60%) and transactional (10%) matters including drafting agreements and forming corporations, LLCs, and other entities, and (30%) in A.D.R. as an arbitrator and a mediator.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1973 in Business Administration with a Finance emphasis. I then attended the University of San Diego School of Law and graduated in 1977 after serving as the Research Editor of the San Diego Law Review. I was admitted to practice law in Nevada in September 1977. After a brief period with the Clark County District Attorney’s office and several law firms, I merged my firm with Al Marquis’ firm to form Marquis & Aurbach. Currently, I am with Marquis Aurbach Coffing. Although I am not a certified specialist as defined by the State Bar, I enjoy contract law, commercial litigation including employment contracts, restrictive covenants, partnership and corporate dissolution, real estate litigation as well as mediating and arbitrating business disputes. When I am not in the office, I am usually on the tennis court or with my wife, Leigh, or both.
I have taken numerous matters to trial before juries and judges and on appeal in various civil cases as well as arbitrating disputes and representing clients in arbitration including winning a $5 million breach of contract award after 22 days of arbitration against an HMO.
