EJDC Medical/Dental Malpractice Status Check Set for February 5, 2018
The Eighth Judicial District Court will hold the next Medical/Dental Malpractice Status Check Calendar at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018, in Courtroom 14A on the 14th floor of the Regional Justice Center in downtown Las Vegas.
Per an announcement (of 12/21/2017), from District Judge Jerry A. Wiess, II, the following information will help counsel to prepare for this event:
The calendar will be heard on 2/5/18 at 1:00 p.m. in numerical case number order with the oldest case being heard first, as follows:
- All med mal cases never set for trial, whose complaints were filed up to 12/5117, if a JCCR has been filed.
- ***If your trial dept. or a previous Med Mal Sweeps had already set, re-set, or vacated a trial, you will no longer come to the Sweeps and will need to coordinate your trial date with your respective trial/judge***
[The Court] will post a list of cases on the County and NV State websites once the calendar is finalized.
The Discovery Commissioner, Bonnie Bulla, will no longer be present to address any discovery issues, as we will only hear trial-ready cases whose trial schedule order has been established by the latest JCCR or SCHO (Scheduling Order).
The Court will work to enforce NRS 41A.061.1, and will attempt to set all Chapter 41A Professional Negligence trials (not already scheduled) within 3 years of the date that the Complaint was filed. Please bring a list of all the cases at which you will be appearing to the hearing.”
Questions regarding the status check calendar should be directed to Tatyana Ristic at (702) 671-3633.
