Description: Speakers Jeffrey Luszeck and Alan Freer of Solomon Dwiggins & Freer, Ltd. present info regarding the Nevada Legislative session in 2019. The 2019 State Legislature made a number of amendments to Nevada Revised Statures (NRS) Titles 12 and 13. AB 286, which makes various changes relating to trusts and estates, was drafted with the purpose to maintain Nevada’s place as one of the leading states in the nation with respect to the rapidly evolving laws governing trust and estates. AB 286 continues Nevada’s tradition of enacting trust and estate law that keeps pace with new developments, streamlines the administration process, ensures that a person’s wishes set forth in an estate plan are honored to the greatest extent permitted by law and affords families additional protections in relation to such laws. The Legislative Committee for the Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of Nevada worked on the concepts and language of AB 286 for over 18 months and received unanimous approval by the State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors for the bill to be endorsed and advanced by the Section. This CLE will highlight AB 286 and other bills that amended NRS Titles 12 and 13.
