Doctor & Lawyers to Teach Spine IME Seminar Sept. 16, 2016
On Friday, September 16, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., the Clark County Bar Association (CCBA) will host a seminar for members of the bar and the supporting legal community.
This seminar will outline recent changes in rules and procedures related to the use of a medical expert and the independent medical examination in a personal injury case.
Dr. David J. Oliveri, MD a Las Vegas physical medicine doctor, will discuss his methodology for determining injury etiology, performing a history and physical exam, what differences may exist between a treating physician and retained expert work up and analysis, and participating in the litigation process.
Attendees will also hear from a defense and plaintiff attorney who routinely litigate spine cases.
Thomas E. Winner handles legal matters in defense of personal and commercial lines insurers, personal injury defense, bad faith, insurance coverage, workers’ compensation defense, alternative dispute resolution, and questioned claims. Mr. Winner is an equity partner with the law firm of Atkin Winner & Sherrod.
Lawrence J. Smith handles legal matters involving personal injury and product liability law and has been trial counsel on multiple cases resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts. Mr. Smith is a partner with the law firm of Benson, Bertoldo, Baker, & Carter.
