CCBA’s Community Service Activities

CCBA’s members are invited to provide outreach services to the community at large in southern Nevada.  See below for CCBA’s upcoming community service activities:

  • CCBA Volunteer Day at Three Square
    • When: Saturday, November 3, 2018 (9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
    • Where: Three Square Food Bank, 4190 N. Pecos Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89115
    • Activity: Volunteers will pack grocery for individuals who receive meal assistance and mobile pantries.

  • Blanket The Homeless
    • Distribution of blankets: Tuesday, November 20, 2018 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. )
    • Who: Bar members can volunteer for 1 (or more) hour shift
    • Where: Project Homeless Connect 2018, The Champion Center, 3900 East Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89110
    • Donations: Donations made after September may be used towards the purchase of blankets the following year. Submit donations (cash, check, credit card) tagged with “Blanket the Homeless ” to either organization:

        Note: Please do NOT donate blankets. We will be purchasing new rescue blankets.

  • Downtown Cultural Series –Supporting the City of Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Division, US District Court – District of Nevada
    • What: Various musicians and performances (Fall 2018 – Spring 2019) perform for the public during lunchtime after a short presentation about a general legal-related topic made by a local attorney.
    • When: Third Friday of each month beginning on November 16, 2018 and ending on April 19, 2019:

    • Where: Jury Assembly Room, Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse, 333 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
    • Activity: Attorneys may volunteer to make a brief presentation to the audience BEFORE the musicians take the stage. To volunteer to be the speaker, contact Steph at CCBA at (702) 387-6011.
    • About: The Downtown Cultural Series is produced by the City of Las Vegas held at the Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse. The City of Las Vegas arranges for the entertainment and food. The Clark County Bar Association arranges for the speaker to address the audience before the performance begins.
  • Law Day
    • When: May 1, 2019 with activities to occur during the week before and week after
    • Where: Various schools in Clark County
    • What: Volunteers are asked to participate in activities related to Law Day with projects focused on law-related education at local schools. Specifically, bar members are invited to speak to the theme of this year’s topic: “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society.” Learn more about the topic at https://www.americanbar.org/groups/public_education/initiatives_awards/law-day.html.
