Celebrate Law Day
- When: Wednesday, May 1, 2019
- Where: Clark County Law Library, 309 South Third Street, Fourth Floor Las Vegas, Nevada 89101
- About: Please celebrate Law Day by visiting the Clark County Law Library on Law Day to receive a complimentary copy of the United States Constitution, while supplies last. The 2019 theme of Law Day is “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society”. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right to free speech, along with other rights that recognize the dignity of individuals to think, believe, worship, and communicate how they wish without fear of punishment or oppression. As George Washington once wrote, “If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” The First Amendment also recognizes freedom of the press, which, similar to freedom of speech, protects the rights of people to say what they believe.
