Alternate Judges Sought for Las Vegas Muni Court

due by 5 p.m., May 2, 2019

The
Las Vegas Municipal Court is seeking attorneys in good standing who are
interested in serving as alternate judges on an as-needed basis to preside over
various criminal and traffic matters when the Municipal Court Judges are
unavailable.

If
an applicant is chosen to serve as an alternate judge, that applicant may not
appear as counsel in any case in the Las Vegas Municipal Court during his or
her term of service.

Attorneys
who are interested in serving as alternate judges must submit a letter of
interest and resume no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 2, 2019 to Cari Viado,
administrative secretary. Submissions may be sent by email (cviado@lasvegasnevada.gov)
or by fax: (702) 385-5510.

By
submitting to the application process, the applicant agrees that the Court may
conduct a criminal background check as well as a Bar status check with the
State Bar of Nevada. Alternate Judges must meet the qualifications set forth in
Sec. 4.020 of the Las Vegas City Charter, including residing within the
boundaries of the City of Las Vegas for a period of not less than 30 days.
