Course Summary: The Complaint is your client’s first chance to tell the story.  It is also a document that must satisfy specific legal requirements.  Learn what judges want and need to see in a complaint that will survive through trial.  Learn to avoid the bad pleading practices that drive judges to despair (and dismissal).

At this CLE, we’ll discuss:

• Stating a plausible claim to satisfy allpleading requirements
• Sticking to essentials, while maintaining a coherent flow;
• Tailoring  facts to include necessary elements; and
• Anticipating (and thus, avoiding) motions to dismiss.
