VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! WESTERN REGION 2011 FREDERICK DOUGLASS MOOT COURT COMPETITION Nevada attorneys and judges are sought to judge this competition. Members of Clark County Bar Association are invited to volunteer as judges of at national event to be held in Las Vegas in January 2011. The Western Region 2011 Fredrick Douglass Moot Court Competition (FDMCC) is an annual event hosted by the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). Volunteers are needed to judge oral arguments and to grade briefs. This competition will be held from January 19-23, 2011 at the University of Nevada, Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas during the BLSA's annual Western Region Regional Convention at Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas NV. The national FDMCC finals, which will be held on March 8 -13 in Houston, Texas, will consist of the top three teams from each of the six Regional FDMCC Competitions. The competition rounds will last approximately one hour and time will be allotting for judges feedback for competitors. The Preliminary round will occur January 20. The Semifinals will occur January 21 and the competition will conclude Final Round on January 22, 2011. Participating judges are asked to reserve 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the day they choose to participate. In addition all judges can receive CLE credit for donating their time to FDMCC.
