IN MEMORIAM: Robert Nelson-Kortland A beloved CCBA member and supporter of the Shoes That Fit Program has passed away. A memorial service for Robert Nelson-Kortland was held on Friday March 12, 2010 at the S. Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family suggests contributions in his honor to the Clark County Law Foundation’s “Shoes That Fit” program. CCLF is a is a 501(c)(3) organization. Liberty Bell Award Nominations Sought Each year the CCLF Community Service Committee receives nominations and selects the recipient(s) for the Liberty Bell Award, awarded at the CCBA Luncheon in May. TBP Summer Course Now Accepting Applications Each summer, the Clark County Law Foundation's internationally acclaimed Trial By Peers program offers an 8 to 10 week course to youth between the ages of 12 and 17. Students accepted into the program are trained in all aspects of the criminal justice system. Upon completion of the course, they are sworn in by a judge to serve as peer counselors in the TBP program, which enables them to prosecute and defend actual cases of their peers in a court of law.
